The Clerk's Office is dedicated to providing support to the Superior court and professional service to the public, and the legal community. The Clerk is assisted in fulfilling his duties by a Chief Deputy and Deputy Clerks. Additionally, support staff are provided for seven Superior Court Judges and five Court Commissioners. The office is the official record keeper, and is responsible for processing and managing all Superior Court records and financial transactions, including Civil, Probate, Criminal, Family Law, Juvenile Offender, Truancy, At Risk Youth, Civil Commitment matters, Jury Management and Passport Services. The responsibilities of the Clerk are established by the State Constitution, State Statutes, State Court Rules, and Applicable Local Court Rules. The Franklin County Clerk is a duly elected Constitutional officer provided by the Washington State Constitution in Article 11 Section 5, and is the Clerk of the Superior Court by virtue of his office as mandated by the Washington State Constitution Article 4 section 26.
